Head and stake pieces assemble with a box wrench after that all you need is a 2×4 and a sledge and your in business. I shot at this target with 9mm, 556 and 762(.308) no dents or pitting. The stake held firm in Rocky soil. I took shots inside 100yrds with no issues from spawling or otherwise. Can’t say for sure how close I was maybe 60 yds. As long as you don’t shoot steel core rounds and have the target staked at a good angle there shouldn’t be an issue. The head bobbles when you make a good hit but it’s not very noticeable from far out. However, the audible feedback is quite good. Excellent investment. Only neg is the price.
