Description

The Challenge Targets Talon Single Reflex™ T-Post Mount provides a durable and economical solution for mounting AR500 steel target plates. Its single heavy-duty compression spring design provides controlled target movement and a loud, resonating ring with each hit.

The mount sleeve is laser cut from heavy-wall round steel tubing and engages the T-Post approximately 3 inches deep, preventing the mount from lifting off the post during use. The round profile and carefully engineered slot geometry allow the mount to slide over T-Posts even when the top edges are deformed. Unlike many competing designs, there’s no need to grind or file the top of the T-Post before installing the mount.

The mounting bracket is cut from 3/8-inch A36 steel and is secured with a quick-release snap pin for fast installation and removal. Unlike many competing designs that rely on thin 1/8-inch steel and welded construction, our bracket is manufactured from solid 3/8-inch A36 steel with a weld-free design that delivers exceptional strength and long-term durability. Even when supporting heavy AR500 target plates, it is engineered to resist bending and withstand years of repeated use.

The target plate is secured using one Grade 8 carriage bolt and custom-manufactured industrial compression spring. Our heavy-duty flat-wire compression spring is designed to maintain it’s shape under repeated impacts while helping absorb the forces generated as the target reacts to bullet strikes. This proven design helps reduce stress on the mounting hardware and preserve the life of the entire assembly.

The mounting bracket positions the target plate at a 10-degree downward angle, helping to deflect bullet energy and extend the life of the target plate. The bracket also positions the target face approximately 4 inches in front of the T-Post, providing additional clearance for unrestricted target movement.

The T-Post Mount features a durable black powder coat finish that provides long-lasting corrosion resistance and a professional appearance.

When disassembled, the mount breaks down into a compact, low-profile package that fits easily into a range bag or allows multiple mounts to be transported using minimal space.
